With out Love!!!!!!

Being the only waitress in a restaurant that has twelve tables sometimes is not easy, especially in the center of Jama at lunchtime. Today was one of those days in which I wanted more than ever to have only three tables in the restaurant.

Today came a group of over 25 people to eat lunch, of course one of them would have to be the last, the harder part about my day it was that this person who was going to be last, was not patient and kind. His arrogant comments and criticisms to the waitress (Me) began to bother me, then I realized that one of the customer stood up and began to help me in my work as a waitress.

When the big group finally left, I approached this gentleman and we had this conversation:
Me: Mr. today the lunch for you will be free.
Mr: I did not helped for having a free lunch.
Me: are you a waiter?
Mr: no, I’m a fisherman
I: it must be hard work. is it not?
Mr: When you love what you do, nothing is hard.

I must visit this place, and soon before I die.

    • i am just getting home and seeing this new post, and i am so glad that you shared it with others! yes, jama and the people of this canton are gentle and kind. of course there are always selfish people, like the impatient customer, but there are also kind people who restore the balance.

silvana, sometimes the ‘least’ likely person is the one who teaches the greatest lessons – by example. like the little shepherd boy, the fisherman knows about integrity and respect for others.

So, in one lunchtime, you saw the best and the worst in human nature. I am not sure why people think it is okay to be rude to waitresses. It happens in so many places.

Gracias, supongo ya regresarte de tus vacaciones, y no creo que pueda tomar un descanso al menos no el fin de semana, gracias por visitarme hoy…. Espero que tengas un buen fin de semana. 🙂

  7. How kind of the fisherman to help you out when you most needed it. I’m sure others have helped him from time to time when he most needed it. Passing on kindnesses through our work and skills and respect for others is a valuable trait to have. Thank you for sharing, Silvana.
